UK Sales Charts: Assassin's Creed Unity Sails Past Black Flag's Launch Sales
Advanced Warfare still on top
There’s a great game in Assassin’s Creed Unity, but it’s obfuscated by bad bugs and glitches. To be fair, Ubisoft is working hard to fix things, and that’s already resulted in one major PlayStation 4 patch. However, upper-management won’t be too worried about the backlash to the game, as it’s outsold the launch numbers of the brilliant Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on the UK sales charts.
Fortunately, this tidbit doesn’t tell the whole tale, as Edward Kenway’s piratical escapade only released on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 initially, with many waiting to purchase the next-gen port. The Parisian adventure also didn’t sell well enough to top the charts, with Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare rocket boosting above it.
New arrival LEGO Batman 3: Beyond Gotham pointed its spotlight at fifth, one place above FIFA 15 which dropped down into fourth. Assassin’s Creed Rogue did decently in sixth, outselling Minecraft: PlayStation Edition in seventh. Elsewhere, the purportedly top-notch PES 2015: Pro Evolution Soccer entered in eighth, pushing Destiny all the way down into 10th position.
It’s nice to have a bit of movement in the charts, but next week’s going to be the most fun; Far Cry 4, Dragon Age: Inquisition, and Grand Theft Auto V should all shake things up significantly yet again. Will the excellent Advanced Warfare be able to cling on to its spot at the summit? Honestly, we’re going to say that it hasn’t got a chance – which is quite incredible, really.
