S1 Mouse keeps jumping
« on: April 12, 2023, 03:42:10 PM »
Using the S1 for PC, the cursor keeps jumping in the direction of movement at the beginning of every movement. Once the cursor is in motion, there's no more jumps/snaps, ...this only happens at the beginning of movement, like when lifting the mouse and placing it down on the pad.

Each time I lift the mouse to reposition it on the mouse pad, the mouse jumps, causing my view to look in the extreme direction of movement. This happens even when at the desktop when the game is closed. It also happens with other game profiles too.

But it also jumps even if I don't lift the mouse off the pad. It jumps at the start of any movement in any direction.

For example, if the cursor is in the middle of the screen and the mouse isn't moving, as soon as I move the mouse a pixel to the left, the cursor jumps to the far left side of the monitor. If I stop moving the mouse and then move it to the right, it jumps far to the right. It does this for every direction, not just left/right.

It also happens at the start of macros. However, if I keep the cursor moving constantly, when macros start, they don't jump. It only happens at the beginning of mouse movement from complete stoppage/non-movement.

this is caused by an improper config to play RUST.
currently, we have no preset RUST config on PC.
this game provides no controller support on PC.

RUST on Xbox or PS console has no such issue.

RUST on Xbox or PS console has no such issue.

But this happens even without Rust open. Also, it happens with all the other game profiles too.

Also, Rust does have controller support on PC through Steam/Big Picture.

the thing is when you are playing a game on PC, you have to use a proper game profile in S1,
or it will not work well with this game.

Since we have not provided a RUST profile on PC,
other game profiles will not work with this game.

If there is any missing understanding, please provide more details of yours,
a video will be better!

PS: we knew Steam can add controller support to this game,
it just turns a controller into a keyboard and mouse.
but this is not real controller support.
and it has many embedded parameters.
when these parameters are changed, our game profile might fail to cope with the game.

What about the ability for us players to create a custom profile? It's mentioned in the S1 instructions, but I don't see an option or button for creating a custom one.

Theoretically the S1 should still be able to work with Steam input, no? Though obviously it would necessitate extra configuring in order to adjust for the Steam Input parameters on top of S1's, right? Or am I missing something else? TIA
Keep calm and carry on!

will assess its possibility, and get back to you later.
