Cannot map Thurstmaster Afterburner II on PS4

Hello,

I have purchased the S1 for the sole purpose to be able to use my Thrustmaster Afterburner II with PS4 Ace Combat 4
I have connected the stick to the s1 and everything is detected fine.
If I activate I/O input I can see that the S1 detects all movements and button.

The problem is that when I try to map a joystick button to a PS4 controller  button, the iOS app randomly picks a signal from my stick before I can do anything. 
It very briefly shows “listening” but I can never manage to click something on my stick before it automatically choose a value (usually Y+ or  Y+ but it can be different)

the following details will be in need to help you:
1. firmware version
2. app version

and please make sure the throttle has been placed to its center position,
you can check that in HOME UI when I/O monitor is enabled.
RZ+ might be triggered by it.

Hardware version: 1.8.8
Firmware: 5.3.4
Bootloader: 3.6.0

To me it seems that the S1 is reading all wrong values from my stick + throttle/rudder.
The stick and the rudder buttons (that placed on the throttle) are centered, but with I/O enabled and before attempting any mapping, the app shows Y+ (100) for the stick and RZ+ (100) for the rudder.
That is maybe why as soon as I try to do a mapping it stores either Y+ or RZ+

as an additional piece of info, if I move the stick around to cover all areas and let it go again to center, the readings for the stick are about:
X+ (50) Y+ (100)

But while moving it, I see values that make little sense
