Updating Firmware

Hello,
I was hoping I could get some answers to some questions regarding firmware updates.

1.  When I update my firmware the device deletes all my game profiles.  Is the workaround to export them before the firmware update?

2.  After the firmware update, my understanding is that the old game configuration is not the current for that firmware?  What about when I import the old file I made before the firmware update.  Is this still old?

1. when a major update comes, s1 needs to be erased before upgrading,
    before that, there will be a popped-up warning message.
    and click the "gear button" at the bottom-left corner of our firmware tool,
    it will bring backup and restore for you.
2. the exported old game configs will still be compatible with new firmware,
    we will convert them into a new format if necessory.
