The gameplay looks like how DICE developers created. It does not depend on S1 or its features.
I do not have any problem with the settings to be honest and works well in the game. This game has just released and suffers from many bugs including  netcode, hit registration etc... sometimes it is very laggy but just the same is happening than in case of other Battlefield games after the release. For example BF3 and BF4 was unplayable at the beginnings but they got may patches and updates during the years and then gameplay quality reached that level which should have at the release date. I am sure that BF2042 will get tons of patches in the future which will affect on the gameplay and look and everything.

Apart from the recommended settings how Richard described in the video on Youtube I advise you to try different field of view settings between 75-90 and try the gamplay without Aiming left/right acceleration or rather set it to 0 instead of the recommended 50. In the HIP subconfing add smoothness 2 or 3 and adjust the proper sensitivity in HIP and ADS while the turning speed perfect.

In the recommended settings the uniform soldiear aiming is Off so you may consider the ADS sensitivity too low or maybe high in different scopes on the weapons.  Personally I modified them. For example a weapon with 1.25 zoom in game settings 100% in Reasnow app  ADS sensitivity =1.60 or 1.50.  But if I change to a 4.00 zoom scope which in game sens 4.00 =100%  then it is much sensible with ADS 1.60 or 1.50 so I modified it in the game to 90% or 80%.

In principle if you turn the usa  (uniform soldier aiming) on  then your HIP and ADS sensitivity will be almost the same  of course if you can set the coefficient well but personally i could not set it do be comfortable  so preferably I let it disabled. Usa is advised when you play only with controller.

There is no point to force only one game settings  because what is comfortable for me it does not mean that it will be comfortable for you or others so take your time and find the best adjustment for yourself.
